Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Whole School Librarian. As a librarian, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the library, managing the collection, and providing excellent service to library patrons. You will support the whole school literacy program and work closely with technolgy.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain library collections, including selecting, cataloging, and weeding materials

• Assist patrons in locating and using library resources

• Manage library operations, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling staff, and overseeing the circulation desk

• Plan and implement library programs and events, such as book clubs, author talks, and children's storytimes

• Stay up-to-date on current library trends and technologies, and implement new tools and resources as needed

• Collaborate with other departments and organizations to promote library services and programs

• Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons

• Maintain accurate records of library transactions and statistics

• Train and supervise library staff and volunteers

  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting

• Strong customer service skills and a passion for helping others

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Knowledge of library management systems and databases

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
