Overview

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Secondary Maths Teacher to join a dedicated school community in Doha, Qatar. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about mathematics, committed to high academic standards, and able to inspire students to develop confidence and success in the subject.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across the secondary age range, support student progress through effective assessment and feedback, and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons for secondary students in line with the school’s curriculum

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that supports effective learning

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress accurately and consistently

  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to promote student engagement and achievement

  • Prepare students for internal and external examinations, where applicable

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve their understanding and performance

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, attainment, and behaviour

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment, and school initiatives

  • Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress and wellbeing

  • Participate in staff meetings, training, school events, and other wider school responsibilities

  • Support the school’s pastoral and safeguarding expectations at all times

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related subject

  • Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach mathematics clearly and effectively

  • Experience planning lessons, assessing student progress, and using data to inform teaching

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents

  • Commitment to student wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusive education

  • Professional, adaptable, and collaborative approach to teaching and school life

Nice to Have

  • Experience teaching an international curriculum

  • Previous experience working in an international school setting

  • Familiarity with GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, IB, or equivalent secondary mathematics programmes

  • Experience supporting students for examinations and achieving strong academic outcomes

  • Understanding of teaching and living in a multicultural environment
