About the Role

The PYP Homeroom and Math Teacher will guide primary students through the IB Primary Years Programme, fostering inquiry-based learning across core subjects while providing focused instruction in mathematics. This role supports whole-child development, encourages curiosity, and helps students build strong conceptual understanding.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a primary-grade homeroom class within the IB PYP framework

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons across core subject areas

• Teach mathematics with a focus on conceptual understanding and skill development

• Create a supportive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment

• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles

• Develop unit plans aligned with PYP standards and school curriculum goals

• Use formative and summative assessment to guide instruction and communicate progress

• Maintain positive communication with parents and guardians

• Collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and curriculum consistency

• Participate in school events, meetings, and professional learning

• Contribute to after‑school activities or clubs as assigned

• Provide pastoral care as part of the homeroom responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field

• Teaching certification/license

• Experience teaching in a primary school setting

• Understanding of the IB PYP framework and inquiry-based learning

• Ability to design engaging lessons that build conceptual and skill-based learning

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Commitment to supporting student wellbeing and holistic development

Nice to Have

• Prior experience teaching in an IB PYP school

• Training in the IB PYP or inquiry-based methodologies

• Experience teaching primary-level mathematics

• International teaching experience
