IBDP Music Teacher

About the Role

This full-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to guide and inspire students in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Music course. The role focuses on developing students’ musical understanding, creativity, performance skills, and analytical abilities while contributing to a supportive and collaborative school community.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging IBDP Music lessons that meet IB standards and foster student growth

  • Prepare students for all components of the IBDP Music course, including performance, composition, and musical analysis

  • Design assessments that align with the IB curriculum and provide meaningful feedback

  • Support students in developing independent inquiry and research skills

  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary learning opportunities

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to reporting cycles

  • Participate in school events, concerts, and performances as part of the music program

  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum review, and ongoing programme development

  • Engage in professional learning to stay current with IB expectations and best teaching practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field

  • Teaching certification or licensure

  • Previous experience teaching IBDP Music

  • Strong musicianship, including proficiency in performance and/or composition

  • Ability to support students with diverse musical backgrounds and skills

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • Experience working in an international or multicultural school environment

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field

  • Experience teaching other IB programmes

  • Background in directing ensembles, choirs, or music groups

  • Ability to teach or support additional arts subjects
