Humanities Teacher (Female)

Overview

Byron Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and engaging Humanities Teacher (Female) for a school-based role in Doha, Qatar. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about helping students develop a strong understanding of history, geography, culture, and society through inspiring and well-structured teaching.

The successful candidate will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, deliver high-quality lessons, and support students in building critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and academic standards

  • Teach topics across relevant Humanities subjects, which may include history, geography, social studies, and related areas

  • Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, assignments, and assessments that meet the needs of different learners

  • Foster a classroom culture that encourages curiosity, respect, collaboration, and active participation

  • Assess student progress through classwork, projects, tests, and examinations, and provide timely and constructive feedback

  • Monitor and track student achievement, maintaining accurate academic records and reports

  • Support students’ academic and personal development through effective classroom management and pastoral care

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the varying abilities, learning styles, and educational needs of students

  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the Humanities department

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, school leaders, and parents to support student success

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, school events, and other wider school activities

  • Uphold the school’s policies, values, safeguarding practices, and professional standards at all times

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, History, Geography, Social Studies, Education, or a related subject

  • Recognized teaching qualification

  • Previous experience teaching Humanities within a school setting

  • Strong subject knowledge across relevant Humanities disciplines

  • Ability to plan and deliver effective, student-centered lessons

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team

  • Commitment to student wellbeing, safeguarding, and academic achievement

  • Professional level of spoken and written English

Nice to Have

  • Experience teaching an international curriculum

  • Previous teaching experience in the Gulf region or in an international school environment

  • Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities, school projects, or student enrichment programs

  • Experience using educational technology to enhance teaching and learning

  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field
