About the Role

Byron Recruitment is seeking a dedicated High School Science Teacher to join an international school in China. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about helping students build strong scientific understanding while developing critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Responsibilities

  • Teach general science to high school students using an international curriculum

  • Design and deliver engaging lessons that build scientific literacy, analytical skills, and curiosity

  • Use a range of assessment methods to monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback

  • Create a classroom environment that supports inquiry, collaboration, and independent learning

  • Integrate hands‑on experiments, demonstrations, and real‑world applications into teaching

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and continuous improvement of the science program

  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with students and families

  • Participate in school events, professional development, and departmental meetings

  • Support the wider school community by contributing to extracurricular activities when appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field

  • Teaching certification or license

  • Experience teaching science at the high school level

  • Strong understanding of scientific concepts and effective instructional strategies

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural school community

  • Clear communication skills and a commitment to student-centered learning

Nice to Have

  • Experience teaching within an international curriculum (such as IB, IGCSE, or AP)

  • Advanced degree in education or a science discipline

  • Experience living or working in an international or multicultural environment

  • Familiarity with inquiry-based learning approaches
