Overview

Byron Recruitment is seeking a skilled and dedicated Secondary Teacher of Business Studies and Business Studies for an international school, with a start date of January 2027. This role is suited to an experienced educator who can deliver engaging lessons, support strong student achievement, and contribute positively to a collaborative school community.

The successful candidate will have subject teaching experience and hold OCT or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. The school is looking for a teacher who can inspire students, maintain high academic standards, and support learners in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Business Studies and Social Studies in line with the curriculum

  • Create an inclusive, positive, and well-managed classroom environment that supports effective learning

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using a range of appropriate assessment methods

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of students with different abilities, interests, and learning profiles

  • Prepare students effectively for examinations and other academic milestones

  • Develop lesson materials and contribute to curriculum planning within the department

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, attainment, and progress

  • Support students’ academic and personal development through effective pastoral care

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, school leaders, and parents to support student success

  • Participate in meetings, professional development, school events, and wider school activities

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • OCT or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching Business Studies and Geography at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge in both areas

  • Ability to plan engaging lessons and deliver effective assessment

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and inclusive practice

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in an international school environment

  • Familiarity with multicultural and multilingual student communities

  • Experience contributing to extracurricular activities or enrichment programmes

  • Ability to support wider departmental or whole-school initiatives
