A-Level Art Teacher

About the Role

The A-Level Art Teacher will guide students in developing strong creative, technical, and analytical skills across a range of visual art disciplines. You will design engaging lessons aligned with the A-Level curriculum, support students in building high-quality portfolios, and inspire them to explore artistic expression with confidence and curiosity. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about helping young artists grow and achieve exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver A-Level Art lessons that build strong conceptual, technical, and practical skills

  • Guide students through the development of coursework and final examination pieces

  • Support students in producing high-quality art portfolios for university applications

  • Teach a variety of techniques, including drawing, painting, mixed media, digital art, and other relevant mediums

  • Provide ongoing feedback to help students refine their artistic voice and technical abilities

  • Maintain an organized, inspiring, and safe studio environment

  • Contribute to exhibitions, student showcases, and wider school arts initiatives

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the visual arts programme across grade levels

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field

  • Teaching certification or equivalent qualification

  • Experience teaching Art at A-Level or equivalent pre-university curriculum

  • Strong practical expertise in multiple art mediums

  • Ability to guide students in developing portfolios and preparing for external assessments

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in a related field

  • Experience teaching in an international school setting

  • Familiarity with digital art or emerging art technologies

  • Experience organizing student exhibitions or arts events
